Pine Creek Rail Trail
A Jewel of the Gorge is the Pine Creek Rail Trail – voted by USA Today as one of the “10 great places to take a bike tour.”
This 62-mile plus long trail with a 2% grade over its entire length travels through the Gorge starting three miles north of Wellsboro and ending in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania. The trail is a hard-packed gravel surface available to hikers and bikers. Equestrians can enjoy a section designed just for horses.
The Pine Creek Rail Trail or “Rails to Trails”
Is a collaboration of DCNR and the local area townships and counties to convert the old railroad tracks to wonderful biking and walking trails. The rail trail runs from Jersey Shore to Stokesdale which is a length of approximately 62 miles. The hard packed stone allows for the trail to be a nice easy ride. The trail has a small grade, only around 2%, and runs mostly uphill toward Ansonia and downhill toward Jersey Shore.
